Communications Manager (United for Wildlife)

Location: Our team have the option to work 60% of the time on-site, 40% at home. Our office is based in Central London (WC1B).
Contract type: 12 month fixed-term contract.
Hours: Full-time (37.5 hours per week), Monday to Friday.

Role Purpose:
The Communications Manager will play a key role in designing and delivering United for Wildlife's communications on a day-to-day basis, managing the communications to the business taskforces and regional partners around the globe.
An experienced communications professional, you will be adept at transforming a strategic vision into reality, while providing hands-on support in a growing and exceptionally high-performing team.
Reporting to the Head of Engagement – with a strong dotted line to United for Wildlife’s (Senior) Programme Manager - and working closely with other members of team, this role is a varied role, demanding agility and collaboration.
Core Responsibilities:
Drive forward communication strategies and plans to help increase awareness and understanding of United for Wildlife’s programme aims amongst key audiences – including businesses, policy makers, NGOs and the public.
Ensure a regular drumbeat of activity and content across press and digital, mobilising other employees across the communications, events and digital department as required, with an indirect line to our Strategic Communications Consultant (focused on editorial).
Deliver “event-led” communications and media around specific programme moments, ensuring high-quality content and impactful results.
Maintain strong relationships with key reporters at national and local outlets across the UK and in priority countries.
Keep abreast with climate and sustainability news, highlighting and jumping on opportunistic activations.
Manage communications and approvals with key partners as required under a “One Team” umbrella, including Kensington Palace, The Earthshot Prize and The Duchy of Cornwall.
Business engagement:
Contribute to the development of a refreshed, innovative B2B communications plan to inspire, engage and activate United for Wildlife’s business taskforces made up of 300+ companies.
Manage a proactive approach to partner engagement, including developing joint communication materials or announcements with United for Wildlife’s business taskforce members.
Relevant Knowledge, Experience and Personal Qualities:
Knowledge & Experience:
A communications or media professional with deep experience in climate/nature/sustainability, responsible business, or impact‑driven storytelling, able to translate complex ideas into compelling narratives.
A strategic thinker skilled in developing and delivering communications plans, managing media relationships, and landing coverage.
A proven collaborator who can build strong stakeholder relationships.
